This weekend we went to the Safeway Classic at Pumpkin Ridge. We had such a great time seeing all the different players make the game of golf seem so smooth and easy. The winner was -13 which is an amazing score. Saturday was cloudy. For a while, it rained , watching Lorena Ochoa play a good game. Unfortunately she couldn't do much. She pretty much kept her scored (-4) which didn't help her in spite of her efforts. I was so glad to follow Lorena from her start almost all the way to the 18th hole. We went back on Sunday. This time, it was sunny and hot. We followed Michelle Wie. She didn't win either, but we had the chance to sneak a few pictures of her and last years winner Cristi Kerr. They both had a big crowd following them!

Este fín de semana, fuímos al Club the Golf Pumkin Ridge a ver el Safeway Classic -- torneo de Golf femenil. Nos divertimos mucho viendo a estas jugadoras hacer ver el juego de golf como cosa de nada. La que ganó obtuvo -13 puntos que es una excelente puntuación. El sábado estuvo nublado, de hecho llovió un buen rato durante el tiempo que vimos a Lorena Ochoa jugar. Desafortunadamente no pudo hacer mucho. A pesar de sus esfuerzos, sólo logró mantener su puntuación (-4) lo cual no la ayudó mucho. Me dió mucho gusto seguirla todo su juego desde que empezó hasta el hollo 18. Regresamos el Domingo. Esta vez el día estuvo soleado y caluroso. Seguimos a Michelle Wie. Tampoco ganó, pero tuvimos oportunidad de sacar unas fotos a escondidas y de ver a Cristi Kerr, la ganadora del año pasado. Las siguió mucha gente a las dos.

Overcast? Cielo nublado?

These last Fall-like days have been an unexpected event after such warm sunny Summer days. It was nice to have a breather from the heat, but it's gotten a little too much, I think. It even rained yesterday! The day turned out humid and gray. I sure hope the sun will come back again. I am not ready for gray days quite yet.

Me han sorprendido estos dias pasados. Pareciera que estamos en otono cuando el verano todavia no ha terminado. Despues de muchos dias de altas temperaturas, me cayo bien un dia templado, pero ya ha sido suficiente para mi gusto !hasta llovio ayer! El dia estuvo humedo y gris. Espero que el sol regrese otra vez. Aun no estoy lista para los dias grises.

Today we hit the highest maximum temperature ever registered for this same date according to the earliest records. It feels so odd to go outside with temperatures like these so late. We reached 103 degrees F!! That's hot for PDX. The weather experts say it will stay like this for the couple of days and then it will slightly lower. In the meantime, we are so thangful for AC!



Hoy tuvimos la misma temperatura máxima que se haya registrado en la ciudad. Es tan extraño salir y sentir temperaturas como estas tan noche. !Llegamos a 103 grados F! Eso es caluroso en Portland. Los meteorólogos dicen que seguirá así por dos o tres días más y después bajará un poco. !Como quiera, nosotros estamos super agradecidos de tener aire acondicionado!

I am trying to type an essay about social justice due Monday. I started writing it on my notebook, but now that I want to create my electronic document I seem to start all over. It drives me crazy!!

Estoy tratando de mecanografear un ensayo acerca de justicia social que tengo que entregar el lunes. Empecé a escribirlo en mi cuaderno pero ahorita que estoy cargandolo en la computadora se me vienen nuevas ideas. ‼Me choca!!

Aqui estamos, iniciando nuestro primer blog. Hemos estado echandole muchas ganas entrenando para poder ira caminar a los diversos senderos que hay a lo largo del rio Columbia. No ha sido facil, pero la gran venteja es que nos animamos uno al otro, cuando uno no quiere ir, el otro insiste y biceversa. En verdad que es mucho mejor cumplir con propositos de este tipo cuando tienes a un aliado con el mismo interes.

Here we are, starting our first blog. We've been working hard trainning to go hiking to different sites along the Columbia Gorge. It hasn't been easy, but the great advantage is that we encourage each other. When one doesn't want to go, the other one insists and so forth. It surely is much easier to keep up with this kind of commitments when you have an ally with the same interest.
